Job Description
A leading cloud and managed services provider is seeking a Senior Manager of Solutions Architecture to oversee a high-performing team of senior-level architects focused on cloud, hybrid, and managed services solutions. This leader will coach and develop a consultative technical team responsible for designing outcome-driven architectures aligned with customer business goals.
The role combines strategic account engagement, tactical deal support, cross-functional collaboration, and executive-level technical leadership. Responsibilities include team development, strategic customer support, technical oversight, and public-facing representation at industry events.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and recruit Solutions Architects specializing in cloud and managed services.

Foster strong collaboration across technical teams to deliver cohesive multi-cloud solutions.

Build growth plans tied to certification goals and strategic initiatives.

Cultivate a collaborative, business-outcome-focused team culture.

Engage directly with key customers and maintain ongoing technical development.
Customer Engagement & Sales Support

Serve as a senior technical sponsor in major customer engagements.

Guide solution design across private, public, and hybrid cloud environments.

Oversee workshops, whiteboarding, and stakeholder sessions.

Support proposal development and RFP responses.

Represent the organization with partners and alliances.
Technical Oversight & Enablement

Bring customer insights into product and engineering roadmap discussions.

Ensure solutions align with internal standards around performance, security, and compliance.

Approve technical solutions and support SOW/design validation.
-
Improve documentation standards, demos, onboarding, and training processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Sales leadership to support account and territory strategies.

Support expansion within strategic accounts.

Partner with Product, Delivery, and Support to ensure a smooth pre-sales to delivery handoff.

Represent the architecture function at events, webinars, and customer sessions.
Operational Excellence

Track KPIs such as win rates, certification progress, and customer satisfaction.

Enhance processes, tools, and automation for improved solution quality.

Manage team capacity, pipeline alignment, and engagement prioritization.
Leadership & Communication

Build trust, provide mentorship, and drive alignment across teams.

Communicate technical concepts through a business-value lens.

Present confidently to senior leadership and large audiences.

Advocate for change and guide teams through growth and transition.
Qualifications
Minimum
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (8–12 years related; graduate degrees reduce the requirement).

3+ years leading pre-sales or technical solution teams.

Proven success in pre-sales leadership and complex infrastructure design.

Ability to influence both executive and technical stakeholders.
-
Experience supporting mid-market and enterprise clients.
Preferred

Deep knowledge of traditional cloud/hosted infrastructure (private cloud, virtualization, networking, security, DR/backup).

Understanding of application, data, and workplace interdependencies.

High-level familiarity with AWS, Azure, and GCP architectures.

Knowledge of DevOps, automation, CI/CD.
-
Strong understanding of security/compliance frameworks.
