Director of Product Management
Reports to: CEO · Cross-functional: Innovation, Product, Engineering, Customer Success
We are a healthcare technology company with a mission-driven platform that helps health systems predict and prevent clinician workforce challenges up to 12 months in advance. We are expanding our team and looking to hire the critical role of Director of Product.
We are seeking an accomplished, visionary Director of Product Management to lead the strategy, development, and delivery of our healthcare technology product portfolio. This role is central to our mission: translating complex clinical and data-driven insights into intuitive, impactful products that meaningfully improve clinician retention.
The ideal candidate brings deep healthcare technology expertise, a command of AI-accelerated product development, and the ability to operate with equal fluency across technical, clinical, and consumer-facing domains. We seek a hands-on leader who is passionate about product excellence, rigorous about quality, and energized by building and mentoring high-performing teams.
We are a small, close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join a mission-oriented, early-stage company at the ground floor and grow with us. There will be plenty of room for growth and creativity, and opportunities to tackle challenges that present one of the toughest problems in our society: clinician shortage and retention.
Key responsibilities
Product strategy & roadmap
Own and drive the end-to-end product roadmap, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy, customer needs, and market opportunity.
Establish and maintain a prioritisation framework that balances strategic priorities, customer value, and delivery capacity.
Partner with internal subject matter experts, clinicians, and data scientists to co-develop and manage a robust innovation pipeline as part of the overall 12-month product roadmap.
Evaluate, validate, and productise innovation opportunities aligned with strategic priorities.
Translate strategic vision of the Chief Innovation Officer into requirements for innovative new features, functions, and products.
Validate strategic vision through voice-of-customer activities and define functional requirements for engineering and commercial teams.
Lead the operationalisation and scaling of validated product concepts, pilots, and customer-facing innovations.
Product development & delivery
Lead the full product development lifecycle from discovery through release with an uncompromising focus on delivery excellence and quality.
Develop and maintain detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in close collaboration with engineering and design.
Champion rigorous QA practices, optimising release processes to consistently deliver high-quality, reliable software on time and within budget.
Leverage AI tools and modern development methodologies to accelerate product cycles, improve decision-making, and enhance team productivity.
Data & analytics
Lead data-driven product decision-making, applying quantitative and qualitative insights to prioritise features and validate outcomes.
Translate complex data models, clinical algorithms, and analytical frameworks into accessible, consumer-facing product experiences.
Define and monitor key product metrics, using data to continuously iterate and improve product performance.
UI/UX & customer experience
Direct the design and UX function, ensuring product interfaces are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with clinical and consumer end users.
Champion voice-of-customer initiatives, embedding customer feedback loops into every stage of the product lifecycle.
Oversee usability testing, persona development, and journey mapping to continuously elevate the product experience.
Product marketing & go-to-market
Partner with marketing and sales to craft compelling product narratives, positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
Lead product launch planning and execution, ensuring readiness across technical, clinical, and commercial teams.
Represent the product to customers, prospects, and industry audiences with clarity and credibility.
Leadership & team development
Recruit, develop, and retain a team of product managers and designers, fostering a culture of accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
Work closely with executive leadership to ensure alignment between near-term and long-term strategic differentiation.
Provide clear direction, regular coaching, and performance feedback to direct reports.
Build strong cross-functional relationships with engineering, clinical, data science, marketing, and customer success teams.
Requirements
6–8 years of progressive product management experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or director-level role.
Deep domain expertise in healthcare technology — health IT, clinical decision support, digital health, or healthcare data platforms.
Demonstrated experience building and managing data-driven products, making complex models accessible and actionable for non-technical users.
Proven track record of owning full product lifecycles from concept through launch, with excellence in requirements definition, prioritisation, and release management.
Hands-on experience directing UI/UX design processes, including wireframes, prototypes, and user testing.
Demonstrated use of AI tools (e.g. LLM-assisted workflows, AI-powered prototyping, automated analysis) to accelerate product development.
Strong technical background with the ability to engage credibly with engineering teams on architecture, APIs, data pipelines, and infrastructure.
Experience leading and mentoring direct reports, with a track record of developing high-performing product teams.
Proven VOC and product marketing capability, including customer research, competitive analysis, and go-to-market execution.
Exceptional communication skills — able to tailor messaging for executives, engineers, clinicians, and customers alike.
Experience working in fast-paced, start-up environments.
Preferred
Experience with clinical or healthcare operations informatics.
Background in agile/scrum methodologies as a practitioner or coach.
Experience with enterprise SaaS, B2B2C health platforms, or patient-facing digital health applications.
What we offer
A leadership role at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and data with meaningful mission impact.
A collaborative, high-trust environment that values innovation, rigour, and the voice of the customer.
Competitive compensation and equity participation.
Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
Flexible work environment with a commitment to work-life integration.
We celebrate diversity and are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where all employees and applicants are treated with respect and dignity.
