Would you like to design software architectures that support satellite operations, secure data processing and some of Europe’s most advanced space-technology projects?
We are recruiting for a leading international technology organisation delivering complex software and ground-based systems for the space sector. Its solutions support satellite operations, earth observation, secure communications and the processing of mission-critical data.
This is an opportunity to move beyond conventional enterprise software and take architectural ownership of systems operating within technically demanding, highly secure environments.
Your responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the overall architecture of complex software systems.
- Design scalable software architectures, components and interfaces.
- Translate system requirements into detailed software specifications.
- Support the development of software for satellite ground systems, secure applications and satellite-data processing.
- Contribute to object-oriented software development and technical design.
- Define unit-testing approaches and support integration and validation testing.
- Maintain clear architecture, design and test documentation.
- Work closely with developers, system engineers, Product Owners and Scrum Masters.
- Coordinate development activities across agile projects.
- Provide technical direction to external software suppliers.
- Support supplier milestones, technical reviews and acceptance activities.
- Contribute technical expertise to proposals for future projects.
Your profile
- Several years of experience in software engineering, architecture or complex system design.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, ideally with C#/.NET or Java.
- Experience with software architecture, interface design and requirements engineering.
- Understanding of unit testing, integration, validation and configuration management.
- Confidence communicating architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Good German and good-to-very-good English.
- Willingness to work regularly from the Bremen site and undertake occasional business travel.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, Python, Rust, REST APIs, cybersecurity or satellite systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
