Location: Mechelen area, Belgium (20 min from Brussels) – Hybrid (50–60% onsite)

Industry: Medical devices & packaging (international scope)

About the Role

We are looking for a Cloud Architect & Cloud Security Specialist to design, implement, and secure cloud solutions within a highly regulated industry. This is a newly created role combining architecture, engineering, and governance.

The position is split between:

• ~40% Cloud Architecture (design & strategy)

• ~15% Implementation support

• ~20% Cloud Security (security posture, hardening, monitoring)

• ~25% Governance & Compliance (regulations, audits, certifications)

You will work closely with internal IT, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure a secure, scalable, and compliant cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and oversee secure cloud architectures, primarily on Microsoft Azure (including SaaS offerings)

• Support the migration of services from on-premise to cloud (databases, services, applications)

• Implement and maintain cloud landing zones, golden templates, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Kubernetes, ARM templates)

• Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO 27001, NIS2, MDR, CE, AI Act)

• Handle security risk assessments, incidents, and internal/external audits

• Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to enforce cloud governance and best practices

• Stay up to date with cloud technologies and cloud security trends

Must-Haves

• Strong experience in Cloud Architecture (Azure preferred)

• Proven background in Cloud Security (identity & access, encryption, network security, monitoring)

• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIS2, MDR, CE, etc.)

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Kubernetes, etc.)

• Ability to balance strategic architecture design with hands-on implementation

• Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration and vendor management

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with SAP BTP / RISE cloud integration

• Knowledge of AI security implications

• Cloud certifications (e.g. Azure Security Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, CISM)

• Experience in regulated industries (medical, pharma, or similar)
