Senior SAP FS-CD/Payments Consultant

One of Energize’s key clients is looking for a very senior SAP FS-CD / Payments Consultant to support a large insurance programme in Germany.

The role is focused on the architecture, requirements and business analysis side of payments rather than hands-on configuration. The consultant will work across business and technical teams to review the planned solution, challenge the proposed implementation approach and ensure that all key payment-related requirements are covered.

SAP FS-CD is the preferred background for this role, particularly where it has been used within insurance payment, collection and disbursement processes. However, the client is also open to senior payments specialists from other platforms or solutions, provided they have a strong understanding of end-to-end insurance payment processes and can operate at an architectural level.

Key responsibilities:

• Review and challenge the proposed FS-CD / payments solution

• Gather and assess end-to-end payment requirements across business and technical stakeholders

• Ensure the solution covers key collections, disbursements and insurance payment processes

• Identify gaps, dependencies and risks within the planned implementation

• Support architecture and solution discussions across the wider payments landscape

• Prepare recommendations and decision points for senior stakeholders where required

• Work independently to define the appropriate approach and drive activities forward

• Act as the link between business teams, architects and implementation teams

Key requirements:

• Strong SAP FS-CD experience is highly preferred

• Alternatively, extensive experience with other enterprise payment solutions will also be considered

• Deep understanding of collections, disbursements and payment processes within insurance

• Strong architecture and end-to-end solution design experience

• Significant requirements gathering and business analysis experience

• Ability to challenge functional and technical solution designs

• Experience working across complex payment landscapes and interfaces

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• Comfortable operating independently at a senior / manager level

• German and English required

Project details:

• Start: October 2026 / flexible for the right profile

• Duration: Initially 6 months

• Workload: Full-time

• Location: Germany

• Working model: Hybrid, typically around 1 day per week onsite or 2 days every 2 weeks

• Languages: German and English

This is not a pure FS-CD configuration role. The client is looking for someone who can understand the payments landscape end-to-end, challenge the planned solution and work confidently across business, architecture and management stakeholders.
