Senior Product Manager, Hardware
Location: Austin, TX (on-site)
A well-funded, venture-backed humanoid robotics company building AI-powered robots designed to work alongside people, starting in manufacturing and logistics, with future applications extending into healthcare and beyond. The company operates across the full robotics stack and is focused on bringing its humanoid platform to market at scale.
Job Summary
Own the product direction for a humanoid robot platform already operating in the field. Manage it as a complete product, turning customer outcomes, field data, and engineering constraints into a roadmap that maximizes value at every stage of the platform\'s life.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the platform roadmap: scope, sequencing, and priorities across capability improvements, reliability, cost, and supportability.
- Manage the deployed fleet as a product: define and track the operational metrics that matter and drive priorities from them.
- Translate field data, service feedback, and deployment insights into clear requirements for engineering, via documents, diagrams, and verbal communication.
- Lead trade studies balancing performance, reliability, cost, serviceability, and schedule; make and defend prioritization calls between sustaining work and forward-looking capability development.
- Own change management for a fielded product: prioritize engineering changes, retrofit/upgrade programs, and software/hardware rollouts with minimal customer disruption.
- Partner with supply chain and engineering on component lifecycle risk and make/buy or second-source decisions.
- Drive cost-down initiatives, connecting BOM and service-cost decisions to customer TCO and program economics.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and build the business case for adoption.
- Align platform deliverables with build cycles, deployment schedules, and program milestones alongside program management.
- Support product marketing and partner relationships to accelerate adoption.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing a hardware product across its full lifecycle, from launch to end-of-life.
- Experience managing tradeoffs tied to shipping physical products and hardware iteration cycles.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience using fleet, field, or telemetry data to drive product decisions.
- Experience running trade studies and evaluating new technologies for adoption (maturity, risk, business case).
- Excellent verbal and written communication, translating technical insight into business impact.
- Comfortable making decisions under uncertainty, prioritizing velocity over perfection.
- 5+ years of product management experience.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical field.
Nice to Have
- Experience with robotics or autonomous vehicles.
- Experience managing platform transitions across product generations.
- Familiarity with functional safety for hardware systems.
