- Build from scratch: Help establish the engineering foundations for a new enterprise-wide Data & AI environment.
- Technical influence: Contribute to technology selection, architecture decisions and development standards.
- Diverse engineering challenges: Work with SAP, Microsoft technologies, data platforms and new AI applications.
- Ownership and impact: Take solutions from data integration and development through testing and production deployment.
- Design and develop scalable data pipelines, data models and lakehouse architectures to support analytics, machine learning and AI applications.
- Integrate structured and unstructured data from SAP, Microsoft platforms, APIs and other enterprise and production systems.
- Develop and implement AI solutions alongside the AI Architect, contributing to technology selection, system integration and production deployment.
- Establish reliable engineering practices, including version control, CI/CD, testing, documentation, data quality and governance.
- Essential: Several years\' experience in Data Engineering, data architecture or related software engineering disciplines, with strong SQL and Python skills.
- Essential: Experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines, data models and modern data warehouse, data lake or lakehouse architectures.
- Essential: Practical experience with data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, SAP Datasphere or comparable technologies; ability to support data and AI integration.
- Essential: Excellent German and English communication skills, with a sound understanding of production-quality software engineering. SAP integration, Git/CI/CD and industrial data experience are advantageous.
- Salary up to €100,000.
- Remote-first working throughout Germany, with typically two NRW office days per month after onboarding.
