SAP HCM ABAP Developer / In-House Consultant

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP HCM ABAP Developer / In-House Consultant to support the development, integration and ongoing optimisation of our SAP Human Capital Management landscape, with a focus on SAP HCM for S/4HANA (H4S4).

This role combines technical expertise with business-facing consulting, offering the opportunity to collaborate with HR stakeholders, IT teams and integration specialists to deliver robust, efficient and scalable HR solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Solution Development: Design, develop, implement and document SAP HCM solutions, supporting core HR processes within an H4S4 environment.

• Integration & Interfaces: Design and implement HCM interfaces using SAP Integration Suite / Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) and SAP Cloud Connector, working closely with integration specialists.

• Business Partnering: Collaborate with HR departments, key users and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, facilitate workshops, assess business needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.

• Project Delivery: Take ownership of assigned workstreams and contribute to project planning, coordination and delivery, including partial project management responsibilities.

• Technical Support: Provide second-line support for HR technical services, investigating issues and implementing effective resolutions.

• System Maintenance: Support system lifecycle activities, including software updates, patches, upgrades and ongoing technical improvements.

Skills & Experience

• At least three years of professional experience in SAP ABAP development and SAP HCM configuration or customisation.

• Strong understanding of SAP HCM processes and technical architecture, ideally within an H4S4 environment.

• Practical experience developing or maintaining HCM integrations, ideally involving SAP SuccessFactors, identity management (IDM) or SAP ERP.

• Experience gathering business requirements, engaging with stakeholders and translating functional needs into technical solutions.

• Knowledge of SAP Fiori, SAPUI5 and OData services would be advantageous.

• A degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline is desirable, although equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.

• Good English language skills and the ability to contribute to an international working environment.
