About the Role

We are looking for an experienced SAP FICO Consultant to join our consulting team and support multiple ongoing and upcoming SAP projects. You will work in a dynamic consulting environment, contributing to S/4HANA transformation projects and advising clients on best-practice financial processes.

You will be the sole FICO consultant in the team initially, working closely with other functional consultants across several parallel projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as SAP FICO subject matter expert across multiple client projects

• Participate in S/4HANA transformation projects (ECC to S/4HANA), covering at least one full end-to-end project lifecycle

• Gather business requirements and translate them into SAP FICO solutions

• Configure and customize SAP FICO modules (FI/CO) in S/4HANA

• Support testing phases (unit, integration, UAT) and go-live activities

• Provide post-go-live support and continuous improvement recommendations

• Collaborate with other functional consultants and project teams across 4 concurrent projects

• Engage with clients onsite as required, maintaining a strong consulting mindset

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience as an SAP FICO Consultant

• Strong hands-on experience with SAP FICO in S/4HANA

• Proven experience in S/4HANA transformations from ECC (minimum 1 full lifecycle project)

• Consulting background (external client-facing experience is essential)

• Strong understanding of financial and controlling business processes

• Ability to work independently as the dedicated FICO consultant

• Fluent German (spoken and written)

• Good English communication skills

Nice to Have

• Based in or near Dortmund / NRW (within ~30 km)

• Willingness to work 2–3 days per week in the office if local

• Flexible hybrid presence:

  • Once per week onsite if within 2 hours travel

  • Once per month onsite if located outside NRW

• Experience working in lean consulting teams or fast-growing environments

• FICO team size: 1 (this role)

• Total functional consultants: 5

• Active projects: 4 concurrent projects

• Growth plans: Potential to hire an additional FICO consultant later this year

Business Travel

• Up to 2 days per week onsite with clients (maximum)

• Travel requirements may vary depending on client and project phase
