About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading technology organisation focused on helping businesses modernise their data platforms and establish scalable, AI-ready foundations. They are seeking an experienced Senior Data Modernization & Microsoft Fabric Specialist to join their growing Data & AI practice.

This is a highly technical role combining hands-on development, solution architecture, reusable asset creation, and technical leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and delivering Microsoft Fabric-based solutions that enable organisations to modernise their data environments and accelerate future AI initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop reusable Microsoft Fabric solution assets, reference architectures, templates, and implementation frameworks.
• Build prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and accelerators using Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, automation technologies, APIs, and integration tools.
• Translate customer and business requirements into scalable data modernisation solutions.
• Develop architecture documentation, technical designs, deployment guides, and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Collaborate with technical architects, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to ensure solution quality and business alignment.
• Support the successful delivery of initial customer projects and help establish repeatable best practices.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance across solution development activities.
• Ensure data platforms are designed with governance, accessibility, security, and AI-readiness in mind.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data technologies.
• Proven background in data engineering and modern data platform development.
• Experience building reusable architectures, frameworks, accelerators, reference implementations, or solution templates.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Lakehouse and Warehouse architectures
  • Data pipelines and orchestration
  • Data governance and security
  • Performance optimisation
  • Data integration and transformation
• Ability to convert complex customer requirements into scalable and repeatable technical solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with experience working in customer-facing environments.
• Experience conducting architecture reviews, technical mentoring, and ensuring delivery quality.

Desirable Experience

• Experience supporting partner ecosystems, consulting organisations, or large-scale multi-country environments.
• Knowledge of AI adoption strategies and the role of modern data platforms in enabling AI workloads.
• Experience working with cloud transformation and data modernisation programmes.

Certifications

The following certifications are highly desirable:

• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600)
• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700)
• Azure Developer Associate
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Additional Microsoft Applied Skills certifications relating to Fabric, automation, data engineering, or AI readiness
