AI & Machine Learning Architect

We are supporting a leading international technology and consulting organisation seeking an experienced AI & Machine Learning Architect to design and implement innovative AI solutions for major customers.

This is a senior, customer-facing position combining AI architecture, hands-on technical delivery, MLOps and project leadership. You will work across selected national and international projects, helping customers progress from initial concepts and prototypes to scalable production solutions.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex AI and Machine Learning architectures.
• Develop innovative Generative AI and Machine Learning solutions.
• Support customers across solution conception, data modelling and implementation.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures.
• Design AI solutions across Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
• Develop solutions involving Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation and modern ML methods.
• Integrate AI workflows into existing enterprise system landscapes.
• Establish MLOps processes for deployment, monitoring and lifecycle management.
• Support AI projects from initial concept through to production implementation.
• Provide technical leadership across AI and Machine Learning projects.
• Coordinate technical delivery and contribute to AI project management.
• Support workshops, solution presentations and customer discussions.
• Help develop innovative AI offerings and market propositions.
• Contribute to pre-sales and wider commercial activities.
• Participate actively in an interdisciplinary AI community.
• Share technical knowledge, reusable patterns and architectural best practices.

Candidates do not need to be experts across every cloud platform or tool. The priority is proven experience designing and delivering complex cloud-based AI architectures, supported by strong knowledge of Generative AI, Machine Learning and MLOps.

Your Profile

• At least five years of experience in a comparable AI, Machine Learning or architecture position.
• Strong experience across Machine Learning Operations, AI architecture and AI project delivery.
• Proven experience designing and implementing complex AI architectures.
• Experience delivering Generative AI and Machine Learning solutions on Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Strong understanding of Large Language Models and Retrieval-Augmented Generation.
• Experience with LangChain, prompt engineering or comparable GenAI frameworks and techniques.
• Strong knowledge of analysing and processing large datasets using Python or R.
• Experience integrating AI workflows into existing enterprise system landscapes.
• Practical exposure to MLOps tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, Evidently or Argo CD.
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking.
• Experience working within agile delivery environments.
• Very good German and English.
• Comfortable working directly with customers and senior stakeholders.
• Willingness to undertake project-related travel within Germany.
