Active Directory Engineer

Location: Greater Dortmund (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Salary: Up to €70,000

The Opportunity

We\'re supporting a leading international organisation in the search for an experienced Active Directory Engineer to join a highly specialised enterprise infrastructure team.

This is an opportunity to work within a large-scale Microsoft environment supporting 20,000–30,000 users, where you\'ll play a key role in maintaining, securing and modernising the organisation\'s core identity infrastructure.

You\'ll collaborate closely with Cloud, Infrastructure, Security and Workplace teams, helping to deliver automation, improve security and ensure a stable, scalable Directory Services environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer and continuously improve the enterprise Active Directory environment.
• Manage and optimise Group Policy Objects (GPO).
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks and identity processes.
• Support and enhance Hybrid Identity environments using Microsoft Entra ID.
• Administer core infrastructure services including Windows Server, DNS and DHCP.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects, migrations and ongoing platform improvements.
• Work closely with Infrastructure, Cloud and Security teams to deliver reliable identity services.
• Ensure the environment remains secure, stable and aligned with best practices.

What We\'re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years\' experience within Microsoft Infrastructure or Directory Services
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Active Directory
  • Group Policy (GPO)
  • PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Windows Server
  • DNS & DHCP
  • Microsoft Entra ID / Hybrid Identity
• Good understanding of Identity & Access Management principles.
• Experience working within enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Fluent German and English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
