Overview
Energize Group is working with a business consulting firm specializing in customer experience, contact center solutions, managed IT, and cloud. This role supports and maintains the client’s proprietary cloud-hosted PBX platform, built on Asterisk and tailored for hospitality environments. It also ensures the performance and resiliency of the broader SIP-based voice ecosystem, covering CXone, Customer PBX, and third-party carriers. The engineer is responsible for system administration, call routing, diagnostics, SIP infrastructure design, and collaboration with internal and external teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage provisioning, call routing, dial plans, voicemail systems, and PBX backend (AGI scripting, database integrations) on Asterisk-based platforms.
- Design, monitor, and troubleshoot SIP trunking connections across CXone, Customer PBX, and UCaaS environments.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, including SIP signaling, RTP analysis, codec mismatches, and call quality issues using tools like Wireshark.
- Maintain and optimize session routing strategies and SBC configurations, including NAT traversal and failover logic.
- Provide support, implement patches and upgrades, and resolve system incidents.
- Assist with system redesigns, capacity planning, and feature roadmap development.
- Liaise with telecom providers for provisioning, troubleshooting, and escalation.
- Document voice infrastructure, including network topology, voice path diagrams, and SOPs.
- Ensure seamless integration with CRM, UCaaS platforms, and SIP carrier networks.
Qualifications
- Experience with Asterisk-based telephony systems and SIP infrastructure.
- Strong command of Linux and VoIP protocols, including SIP, RTP, SDP, and DNS-SRV.
- Hands-on experience with FreePBX, AGI, AMI, and backend tools such as Kamailio or FreeSWITCH (preferred).
- Proven ability to troubleshoot SIP and network voice issues, including NAT/pinhole and QoS challenges.
- Experience with custom VoIP deployments in hospitality or enterprise environments.
- Strong background integrating telephony platforms (PBX, CCaaS, UCaaS) and SIP trunking.
- Familiarity with voice-capable firewalls and SBCs.
- Networking certifications (e.g., CCNA Voice, CompTIA Network+) a plus.
