What You’ll Bring:
- Proven experience designing multi-axis robotic legs, exoskeletons, or dynamic high-DOF systems
- Expertise in locomotion kinematics, dynamics, and control considerations
- Strong background in structural and fatigue design for impact and high-cycle loads
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA
- Ability to define mechanical architectures, lead trade-off analyses, and drive system-level decisions
- Track record of integrating actuators, sensors, and structural elements within compact, high-performance mechanisms
- Skilled in designing for durability, impact absorption, and safety in demanding robotic applications
Nice to Have:
- Experience with return-to-service testing, impact resistance, or lifecycle validation
- Familiarity with systems integration involving complex cabling and environmental robustness
- Knowledge of dynamic stability, energy efficiency, and mass distribution strategies
- Previous experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams including controls and actuation
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related fields
- At least 8+ years of experience designing complex robotic or high-load dynamic mechanical systems
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work on-site in Austin, TX
- Capable of lifting up to 15 pounds
- Excellent communication skills for technical mentorship and cross-functional collaboration
