We are seeking a dedicated Service Support Specialist to provide technical expertise, troubleshooting, and system maintenance in a dynamic, onsite environment. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical expertise and excellent customer service skills.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
- Extensive experience operating, monitoring, and maintaining DWDM transport networks, including provisioning and troubleshooting optical systems.
- Strong knowledge of optical transmission, signal integrity, and equipment diagnostics.
- Proven ability to respond swiftly to hardware and network issues, minimizing downtime through effective troubleshooting and support.
- Proficiency with operating systems such as Windows, macOS, or Linux, and familiarity with DWDM management tools like Ciena Site Manager and MCP Domain Controller.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols, hardware, and security measures including firewalls and VPNs.
- Relevant certifications compliant with DOD 8140.03M in DWDM transport systems.
Preferred Skills and Additional Expertise:
- Experience transitioning from TDM technologies to DWDM solutions.
- Ability to perform testing, integration, and documentation of new circuits and devices.
- Effective communication skills for user training and documentation creation.
- Experience working with vendors and service providers to ensure optimal system performance.
Ideal Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years in technical support, network administration, or IT system management, with specialized experience in DWDM transport systems.
Other Requirements:
- On-site presence at the designated location, with the ability to move or lift IT equipment as needed.
- Availability for occasional after-hours or weekend work to support critical updates or system issues.
- Active participation in change management processes and compliance audits.
