Senior Windows & Application (PLM) Engineer

Overview
A leading engineering and technology organisation is seeking an IT Operations & Application Manager to take ownership of its on-premises PLM environment and support business-critical applications.

This role sits within a small, collaborative team and plays a key part in ensuring the stability and performance of systems used across complex product development processes.

The Role

You will manage and maintain on-premise server infrastructure and application environments, with a strong focus on a PLM system used for engineering data and documentation.

The position requires a hands-on, problem-solving mindset, combining infrastructure knowledge with application support and cross-team coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Windows Server environments and hosted applications (on-prem only)

• Own and maintain the organisation’s PLM system

• Troubleshoot complex system and application issues, including root cause analysis

• Work closely with infrastructure teams (network, virtualization, security)

• Support internal teams by ensuring system availability and performance

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in IT operations, system administration, or application management

• Strong experience with Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server

• Scripting skills for automation and maintenance tasks

• Understanding of how applications integrate within wider IT infrastructure

Nice to have:

• Experience with PLM tools (any platform)

• Exposure to .NET / C#

• Familiarity with CAD-related environments

• Basic Linux knowledge

• Understanding of ITIL processes

Location & Working Model

• 3 days on-site / 2 days remote

Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

• EU or NATO citizenship required (due to security regulations)

• B2 German minimum
