Senior Windows & Application (PLM) Engineer
Overview
A leading engineering and technology organisation is seeking an IT Operations & Application Manager to take ownership of its on-premises PLM environment and support business-critical applications.
This role sits within a small, collaborative team and plays a key part in ensuring the stability and performance of systems used across complex product development processes.
The Role
You will manage and maintain on-premise server infrastructure and application environments, with a strong focus on a PLM system used for engineering data and documentation.
The position requires a hands-on, problem-solving mindset, combining infrastructure knowledge with application support and cross-team coordination.
Key Responsibilities

Administer and support Windows Server environments and hosted applications (on-prem only)

Own and maintain the organisation’s PLM system

Troubleshoot complex system and application issues, including root cause analysis

Work closely with infrastructure teams (network, virtualization, security)

Support internal teams by ensuring system availability and performance
Requirements

5+ years experience in IT operations, system administration, or application management

Strong experience with Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server

Scripting skills for automation and maintenance tasks

Understanding of how applications integrate within wider IT infrastructure
Nice to have:

Experience with PLM tools (any platform)

Exposure to .NET / C#

Familiarity with CAD-related environments

Basic Linux knowledge
