SAP IS-U Business Architect / Transformation Lead | Freelance
We are supporting a major energy organization that is strengthening its SAP IS-U landscape in preparation for its S/4HANA rollout. They are looking for a senior SAP IS-U professional who can bridge business and technology, establish clearer ownership and shape the continuous improvement roadmap beyond go-live.
This is not a hands-on configuration role. The focus is on business architecture, stakeholder leadership and ensuring that technical decisions support the organisation’s long-term operational and regulatory requirements.

This is not a hands-on configuration role. The focus is on business architecture, stakeholder leadership and ensuring that technical decisions support the organisation’s long-term operational and regulatory requirements.

- Help define the future direction of the platform in line with changing business and regulatory requirements.
- Reduce dependency on a small number of long-standing technical resources by improving processes, knowledge transfer and documentation.
- Ensure initiatives progress from ideas into properly owned and delivered solutions.
- Establish stronger governance, accountability and decision-making across the IS-U landscape.
- Evaluate solution proposals and challenge unnecessary customization or short-term technical decisions.
- Bridge the gap between business stakeholders, developers, architects and implementation partners.
- Translate business priorities into clear, viable SAP IS-U initiatives.
- Own and drive the post-go-live SAP IS-U improvement roadmap.
- Languages: Swedish would be preferred, although Danish or Norwegian is also possible. Fluent English is necessary.
- Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills at both operational and leadership level.
- Experience working with complex legacy landscapes, custom developments and S/4HANA transformation programmes.
- Strong ownership mentality, with the confidence to challenge both business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience connecting business requirements with technical design and delivery.
- The ability to understand SAP IS-U solutions at an architectural level
- A background in business architecture, solution leadership, management consulting or senior SAP programme delivery.
- Strong SAP IS-U experience gained within a large energy or utilities organization.
- Contract duration: February 2027, plus possible extensions
- Start: September 2026
- Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite is ideal. Remote flexibility may be considered for an exceptional profile able to travel regularly
