SAP Basis Architect

Energize SAP is supporting a well-established German production company known for engineering excellence, innovation, and high-quality manufacturing. As they continue to modernize and expand our digital landscape, we are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Architect to play a key role in shaping and optimizing the SAP ecosystem.

Role Overview

As an SAP Basis Architect, you will be responsible for the design, architecture, and continuous improvement of the SAP landscape. You will work closely with IT leadership, SAP functional teams, and infrastructure specialists to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement SAP system architecture (on-premise, cloud, or hybrid)

• Lead SAP Basis operations including installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching

• Define and enforce SAP architecture standards, policies, and best practices

• Manage SAP landscapes including S/4HANA, ECC, BW, and Solution Manager

• Oversee system performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting

• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning

• Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance and system integrity

• Support SAP migrations, especially to S/4HANA and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Mentor junior Basis administrators and provide technical leadership

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

• 8+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration and architecture

• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA and HANA database

• Proven experience in SAP system migrations and upgrades

• Expertise in Linux/Unix and database administration (HANA, Oracle, or similar)

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

• Strong understanding of SAP security, networking, and infrastructure

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• Fluent in English (German is a strong advantage)

Preferred Skills

• SAP certifications in Basis or HANA

• Experience in manufacturing or production environments

• Knowledge of automation tools and DevOps practices

• Familiarity with SAP Fiori and SAP Cloud Platform
