Experience: Approximately 3–5 years
The Opportunity
An established international technology organisation is looking for a hands-on IT System Specialist to join its internal network infrastructure team in Munich.
The position will focus primarily on the operation, administration and troubleshooting of LAN, WLAN and firewall infrastructure across a growing international environment.
This is a mid-level operational position rather than a senior architecture or leadership role. It is suited to someone with approximately three to five years of practical network administration experience who enjoys remaining close to the technology.
Your Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain and administer the company’s network and firewall infrastructure.
- Support LAN, WLAN, switching, routing and gateway environments.
- Administer Aruba switching and wireless technologies.
- Monitor network availability, stability, performance and security.
- Analyse and resolve network faults and connectivity problems.
- Configure and support network access-control solutions.
- Implement and maintain colorless port configurations.
- Administer Palo Alto and FortiGate firewall environments.
- Implement approved firewall rules and network changes.
- Process second-level incidents, service requests and changes.
- Use Wireshark and other tools to analyse network traffic and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Support DNS and network services within a multi-site environment.
- Document configurations, changes and troubleshooting outcomes.
- Contribute to ITIL-aligned processes, standards and operational guidelines.
- Support the deployment of the company’s established network architecture at new international locations.
- Occasionally travel to other sites to assist with network implementation and infrastructure rollouts.
Technical Environment
The network environment includes:
- Aruba switching and WLAN
- Palo Alto firewalls
- FortiGate firewalls
- Infoblox DNS
- Genua firewalls

- LAN/WAN infrastructure
- TCP/IP
- VLANs and network segmentation
- DNS and DHCP
- VPNs, routers, switches and gateways
- Network monitoring platforms
- ITIL-based incident, request and change management
Applicants are not expected to have experience with every technology listed. The strongest priority is practical LAN/WLAN administration, ideally with Aruba, supported by experience with Palo Alto or FortiGate firewalls.
Your Profile
- Approximately 3–5 years of hands-on network administration experience.
- Strong practical knowledge of LAN, WLAN and enterprise switching.
- Experience working with Aruba switching or wireless infrastructure is highly desirable.

- Proactive, independent and team-oriented working style.
- Willingness to work onsite in Munich three days per week.
- Eligibility to work within a security-sensitive IT environment.
