Lead Entra ID Engineer

Location: Greater Dortmund (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Salary: Up to €75,000

The Opportunity

We\'re supporting a leading international organisation in the search for a technically strong Directory Services specialist who is ready to take the next step into leadership, or an existing Team Lead who still enjoys remaining hands-on.

This is an excellent opportunity for Senior Engineers and Senior Consultants who are actively looking to propel their careers into a leadership position while remaining close to the technology. You\'ll continue working with modern Microsoft technologies while mentoring engineers, driving infrastructure projects and helping shape the future of a global identity platform supporting tens of thousands of users.

Working alongside Cloud, Infrastructure, Security and Workplace teams, you\'ll influence architectural decisions, modernise critical identity services and play a key role in the organisation\'s long-term infrastructure strategy.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and act as the go-to expert for the Directory Services team.
• Mentor and develop engineers while supporting their technical growth.
• Own the planning, operation and continuous modernisation of the Directory Services environment.
• Improve the security of the Active Directory landscape through hardening and best practices.
• Design and automate identity workflows using PowerShell.
• Manage and optimise Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy (GPO), DNS, PKI and Windows Server environments.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and long-term infrastructure strategy.
• Lead enterprise infrastructure and transformation projects.
• Work closely with Cloud, Infrastructure, Security and Workplace teams to deliver business-critical solutions.

What We\'re Looking For

• Several years\' experience within Microsoft Infrastructure, Directory Services or Hybrid Identity environments.
• Strong technical expertise across:
  • Active Directory
  • Microsoft Entra ID
  • Hybrid Identity
  • Group Policy (GPO)
  • DNS
  • PKI
  • Windows Server
  • PowerShell scripting and automation
• Experience delivering enterprise infrastructure projects.
• Migration experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Fluent German and English.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and business stakeholders.

Leadership

This opportunity is ideal for experienced Team Leads, but we\'re equally interested in Senior Engineers and Senior Consultants who have already taken ownership of technical projects, mentored colleagues or acted as technical leads and are now ready to make their first move into formal leadership.

The role remains highly technical and includes:
