Consulting Architect | Azure Cloud Strategy

This is a senior Azure consulting role for someone who can sit with C-level stakeholders, understand what the business is really trying to achieve, and turn that into a credible, phased cloud transformation strategy.

You will be joining a specialist cloud advisory team that helps enterprise customers make confident decisions about Azure adoption, modernization, governance, investment, and operating models. The role sits at the intersection of executive consulting, enterprise architecture, and cloud strategy, so it is ideal for someone who enjoys big-picture influence but still has the technical depth to earn trust with engineering teams.

The Opportunity

As a Consulting Architect focused on Azure, you will lead advisory engagements that shape how organizations move to, modernize on, and get value from the cloud. You will work directly with senior leaders and C-level stakeholders, translating business priorities into practical Azure roadmaps, investment cases, and transformation plans.

This is not a purely technical design role and it is not a generic pre-sales position. You will define the strategy, help shape the engagement, and then stay close enough to delivery to make sure the work lands properly.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will lead executive discovery workshops to uncover business drivers, transformation goals, constraints, risks, and desired outcomes.

You will assess how business strategy impacts the wider architecture landscape, including organization, infrastructure, applications, data, governance, and operating models.

You will translate cloud ambition into phased Azure transformation roadmaps that clearly explain the technical, organizational, process, and investment implications at each stage.

You will build business cases, TCO models, investment narratives, and executive-quality recommendations that connect Azure initiatives to measurable outcomes.

You will define consulting and advisory engagements in a pre-sales capacity, including scope, technical approach, work breakdown structures, staffing models, and statements of work.

You will deliver the engagements you help shape, giving customers continuity from early advisory conversations through execution.

You will create senior-level deliverables, including strategy decks, architecture recommendations, roadmaps, operating model designs, and executive presentations.

You will work with sales, delivery, and technical teams to sharpen go-to-market strategy and help mature the consulting practice.

What We’re Looking For

You are the kind of architect who can move comfortably between a boardroom and a technical whiteboard. You can speak in business outcomes without sounding vague, and you can speak technically without losing a non-technical audience.

You will bring:

• Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification, including AZ-305
• 8+ years of solutions architecture experience
• At least 3 years of public cloud experience
• Experience developing and presenting cloud strategies, business cases, and transformation roadmaps to executive or C-level audiences
• Strong Azure knowledge across infrastructure, networking, identity, security, and application modernization
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture disciplines such as business architecture, IT governance, data architecture, information architecture, and integration architecture
• Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
• Confidence working across customer-facing, internal, technical, and commercial teams
