You will be joining a team dedicated to developing state-of-the-art general-purpose humanoid robots designed to operate in human spaces, use standard tools, and work alongside people.
We are looking for a talented and motivated Application Engineer to play a critical role in deploying and supporting our client’s humanoid robots across global customer sites. As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support of these advanced robotic systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to work hands-on with innovative robotic technology and make a direct impact on the future of human-robot collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Deployment: Lead the preparation, installation, and configuration of humanoid robots at customer sites, ensuring successful deployment and seamless integration with existing systems.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, software updates, hardware inspections, and component replacements to maintain optimal robot performance.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with humanoid robots both remotely and on-site to minimize downtime and quickly restore functionality.
- Customer Support: Provide hands-on technical support and training to customers, helping them effectively operate and maintain the robotic systems.
- Documentation: Contribute to maintaining detailed records of service activities, including logs of maintenance, part replacements, troubleshooting procedures, and customer interactions to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as engineering, product management, and customer success to escalate and resolve complex technical issues while contributing to continuous product improvement.
- Field Testing and Feedback: Participate in field testing and evaluation of new robot features, providing feedback to engineering teams to drive continuous product development and enhancement.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on technical experience with robotic or electromechanical systems, including both hardware and software components.
- Proven problem-solving and project management skills with the ability to work independently in fast-paced, customer-facing environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with customers and clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with humanoid robotics concepts such as kinematics, dynamics, and motion planning is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with programming languages like Python, C/C++, and experience with ROS (Robot Operating System).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 30%-50%) to support customer deployments.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience in field service, application engineering, or technical support roles, preferably within the robotics industry.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift 25-45 pounds when handling robot components.
- Clear vision and hearing for reading materials, viewing screens, and effective communication.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including international travel. A valid passport is highly preferred.
