SAP Basis Inhouse Administrator

We are currently looking for a skilled SAP Basis Administrator to join our client’s in-house team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to manage and optimize SAP system landscapes, supporting a fast-paced retail environment and contributing to the smooth operation of business-critical systems.

Position Overview:

As an SAP Basis Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing the SAP system landscape. You will work closely with internal IT teams and external partners to ensure the performance, stability, and security of SAP systems, playing a key role in supporting the company’s business operations and digital strategy.

Tasks:

• System Administration: Manage the daily administration of SAP systems, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system operation.
• Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor SAP system performance and implement tuning measures to maintain high availability and responsiveness in a dynamic retail environment.
• System Upgrades and Patches: Plan and execute SAP system upgrades, enhancement packs, patches, and database updates, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure the security of the SAP landscape by maintaining system integrity, managing user roles and authorizations, and ensuring compliance with industry security standards.
• Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data protection and business continuity.
• Collaboration with IT Teams: Work closely with other IT teams (network, database, and application support) to ensure seamless integration and smooth operation of the SAP environment.
• Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within the SAP Basis infrastructure, working with external partners and SAP support when necessary.
• System Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of SAP system configurations, procedures, and changes to ensure transparency and support ongoing system management.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for system enhancements and optimizations to improve the performance, stability, and scalability of the SAP environment.

Profile:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: Proven experience as an SAP Basis Administrator with expertise in SAP system administration, including installation, configuration, and system optimization.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of SAP Basis components, databases (HANA, Oracle, etc.), operating systems (Linux, Windows), and system monitoring tools.
• Security Management: Experience managing SAP system security, including user roles, authorizations, and compliance with industry standards.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal IT teams, external partners, and business stakeholders.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, retail-focused environment.
• Language Proficiency: Minimum German language skills at level B2 and fluent English.
