Position Overview:

As an SAP ABAP Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining ABAP-based solutions to support the company’s SAP landscape. You will work closely with internal business units and IT teams to design, code, and implement customized SAP functionalities that enhance business operations, particularly in the manufacturing environment.

Tasks:

• Custom Development: Design, develop, and implement SAP ABAP programs, including reports, forms, enhancements, interfaces, and workflows, to support business processes within the manufacturing sector.
• Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders and functional consultants to gather and understand business requirements, translating them into effective technical solutions.
• Code Optimization: Continuously optimize and enhance existing ABAP code to improve performance and meet evolving business needs, ensuring high efficiency in system operations.
• Technical Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all custom developments and modifications, ensuring clarity and ease of future reference for the development team.
• SAP Module Integration: Ensure seamless integration between SAP ABAP developments and other SAP modules such as MM (Material Management), PP (Production Planning), and SD (Sales and Distribution).
• Troubleshooting: Provide support for system issues, troubleshoot and resolve technical problems within the SAP ABAP environment to ensure smooth operations.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct system testing and debugging to ensure high-quality development, reliability, and adherence to best practices.
• Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest SAP technologies and trends, incorporating new skills and techniques to enhance system functionality and performance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional IT teams, ensuring that SAP ABAP developments align with business goals and system requirements.

Profile:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: Proven experience as an SAP ABAP Developer, ideally within an industrial machinery or manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of SAP business processes.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in SAP ABAP programming, including object-oriented ABAP, ALV reporting, SmartForms, SAPscript, BAPI, BADI, and IDOCs.
• Module Integration: Experience in integrating ABAP developments with SAP modules such as MM, SD, PP, and other relevant areas.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues efficiently.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Project Experience: Experience in SAP development projects, including gathering requirements, delivering custom solutions, and ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
• Manufacturing Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing processes and how they integrate into SAP systems is a plus.
• Language Proficiency: Minimum German language skills at level B2 and fluent English.
