SAP ABAP Developer

We are currently seeking a talented Senior ABAP Developer to join our client’s expert in-house team. This role provides a great opportunity to work on cutting-edge SAP developments and play a critical role in enhancing business processes for a leading player in both manufacturing and retail sectors.

Position Overview:

As a Senior ABAP Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing ABAP-based solutions across the SAP landscape. Working closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners, you will drive the technical aspects of SAP projects, ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions that enhance the efficiency and performance of business processes.

Tasks:

• Custom Development: Design, develop, and implement ABAP solutions to support the company’s business processes in manufacturing and retail, including custom reports, interfaces, forms, and workflows.
• Solution Design: Collaborate with functional consultants and business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business challenges, and translate them into technical specifications for ABAP development.
• Optimization and Enhancement: Continuously optimize existing ABAP programs for improved performance and scalability, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs and industry standards.
• Integration: Ensure seamless integration of ABAP developments with other SAP modules (e.g., MM, SD, FI) and third-party systems.
• Code Quality and Standards: Maintain high standards of ABAP development, following best practices in coding, testing, and documentation to ensure system stability, security, and performance.
• Project Management: Participate in full project life cycles, from initial requirements analysis through design, coding, testing, and deployment of ABAP developments.
• Mentoring: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices to support team development.
• System Support: Work closely with the support team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Documentation: Ensure all developments are documented clearly, maintaining technical specifications and user guides to support future system enhancements and knowledge transfer.

Profile:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: Extensive experience as an ABAP Developer, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality custom developments in a manufacturing or retail environment.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of SAP ABAP, including object-oriented programming, reports, forms (SmartForms, SAPscript), BAPIs, BADIs, IDOCs, and SAP Fiori/UI5.
• Project Experience: Experience with full lifecycle SAP development projects, including the ability to lead technical design and implementation of complex solutions.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve technical challenges and enhance system performance.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business teams.
• Mentorship and Leadership: Experience in guiding and mentoring junior developers, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented team environment.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience in the manufacturing or retail industry is a plus, particularly in developing solutions aligned with production, logistics, and sales processes.
• Language Proficiency: Minimum German language skills at level B2 and fluent English.
