Job Title: Oracle DBA Migration Specialist - AWS Partner

Role Overview:

As an Oracle DBA Migration Specialist at our AWS Partner organization, you will lead the migration of Oracle database workloads to Amazon Web Services (AWS) for their clients. Your role will be crucial in ensuring a smooth and efficient transition, leveraging your Oracle expertise and AWS cloud knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Migration Planning: Collaborate with clients to assess their Oracle database environments and develop comprehensive migration plans to AWS. Identify dependencies, potential challenges, and migration strategies.
• AWS Cloud Expertise: Utilize your deep understanding of AWS services and best practices to architect, deploy, and manage Oracle databases on AWS. This includes working with services such as Amazon RDS, Amazon EC2, AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), and others.
• Database Migration: Lead and execute the migration of Oracle databases to AWS, ensuring minimal downtime, data integrity, and optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize Oracle databases on AWS for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. Implement best practices and recommendations to improve database performance.
• Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures, access controls, and encryption for Oracle databases on AWS, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Backup and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies using AWS services such as Amazon S3 and AWS Backup to safeguard client data.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of migration plans, configurations, and procedures. Share best practices and knowledge with team members.
• Client Communication: Establish and maintain effective communication with clients, providing regular updates on migration progress, addressing questions or concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Oracle Expertise: Extensive experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, including expertise in database management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• AWS Cloud Skills: Proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS), including experience with AWS database services and migration tools. AWS certifications are a plus.
• Migration Experience: Proven track record of successfully migrating Oracle databases to AWS, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity.
• Security and Compliance: Familiarity with database security best practices and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues and clients to achieve migration objectives.
• Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing migration challenges.
• Experience: Several years of experience as an Oracle DBA, with a demonstrable track record in database migration projects, especially to AWS.
