About the Role:
Energize is working with a premier professional services partner. As the Engineering Leader and Manager of the Platform Technologies team, you are going to lead a group of engineers delivering elite product capabilities and ensuring security, performance, and reliability of the hosting platform. Responsible for the entire vertical, your team provides customers with solutions through customized applications and partnerships with the top infrastructure providers. You will be relied on to be an active voice and advocate for the mission and company objectives, while championing the needs of your team. This position is a mix of people and technology, you will play a massive role in mentoring and career development while also guiding the team to make adequate technical decisions.
You’ll be responsible for shipping products of the highest quality, recruiting & mentoring qualified engineers, and leading engineering teams applying an SRE mentality to design, build, maintain, and operate distributed systems at different scales. You’ll work closely with colleagues in product & program management to define & shape the entire product roadmap and ultimately deliver a positive impact to not only the customers, but different organizational teams. In the leadership capacity you will be responsible for leading a team of smart and hard-working engineers that true technologists and enjoy building and automating tools on the company platform and on applications to make it more reliable, scalable, secure, and usable.
The Day to Day:
Drive the implementation of engineering standards.
Spend time gaining hands-on familiarity with the tools and technologies that teams are using and help identify new ones that could be useful.
Build and Lead a team engineers.
Stay up to date on activities across the company & customers.
Communicate with teams across the organization.
Be accountable for the team’s performance.
Your Expertise and Passion
2+ years of experience leading productive engineering teams in building and operating applications in public/hybrid cloud environments.
4+ years strong hands on experience in containers.
Experience leading teams in building and operating high quality applications built for high performance and high availability at substantial scale.
Experience with backend service development and API design.
Experience with Agile practices (Scrum), to push teams to learn, organize, and reflect on wins/losses to improve performance.
Ability to communicate and collaborate between Engineering, Product and other business units.
Natural problem solving abilities, an inquisitive personality, and an eagerness to pursue the challenge of big problems.
